The Scrutiny of Scientists’ Performance
Question: How does one recognise good science?
Theme: Today you’re the author and I’m the reader,
tomorrow it’ll be the other way round
How do we know if we can trust scientific findings? The quality control
in science follows a specific process: the peer-review. This means that
scientists judge the work of their colleagues in their discipline,
which leads to a complex situation of mutual assessment, anonymous
criticism, and competition.
The Peer-Review module looks behind the
scenes and shows, in a video installation, what really goes on in this
assessment process. Discover the theatre of scientific evaluation!
