Researchers Without Borders

Question: How do scientists live as asylum seekers?
Theme: She rejoiced to get offered a job as a cleaning lady

When we think about the knowledge society, we imagine managers travelling to give presentations. But many scientists run away from wars, persecution and racism, and arrive in Austria as asylum-seekers. In the luckiest cases, they can perform lowly qualified tasks.
The Office for Scientific Flotsam and Jetsam is a work and exhibition space documenting the life and work a group of asylum-seekers. In addition, the association Researchers Without Borders will be constituted to carry on the work of the Office.
